Born and raised in Estonia – small country with big dreams. After career in the IT sector and years of working in the office had lost its appeal I started travelling. Experiencing different cultures and places complemented well my master studies in anthropology.
It was in Nigeria where I had my first close encounter with film production. Local producer spotted me in the market and casted to play FBI agent in a low budget action flick. Experience was thrilling and so started my long friendship with movie making.
Some time later while studying in Turkey I had a chance to take courses in video production and film editing. Encouraged by new skills and know how I started to freelance for video production and editing jobs after returning back to Estonia.
I could not stay put for too long and soon headed to work in Australia, shooting photos and videos in the ski resort. This is where first heard about the Canadian Rockies.
So it was only mater of time until I found myself in the Bow Valley. Following my passion for mountains and film making I soon started working in The Banff Centre as a Video Editor.
During my time in Banff I worked on broad variety of projects: trailers for Film Festival, Interviews, Documentaries, Corporate events, Live concerts, Dance performances and more.
Climbing on rock and ice, riding on mountain bike and snowboard, getting out there on ski tours and alpine adventures or just looking around and absorbing the beauty of the moment, these are the things needed for me to compliment work that I’m passionate about and to make living worthwhile!
Over the years I have worked on different movie projects, helping out with productions that are happening in my backyard. Chance to work with top athletes like Adam Ondra, Marc-Andre Leclerc and Matt Segal has been great privilege and has given me unique experiences.
While trying to figure out way to make this place my home and how to immigrate I started working for a local theatre company. New experiences were gained working with limited budget and producing webseries, commercials and live theatre shows.
Life has equipped me with unique skillset – strong academic and information technology background complemented by experience on all sides of video production. Being proficient climber on different mediums with good ropework skills adds another advantage.
